ARCON Provides engineering support in the development of the FAA's Standard
Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS);independently validates the STARS
tracking function and the STARS safety functions.
ARTS:ARCON has supported the FAA's ARTS program for decades.
Responsible for design of ARTS horizontal and vertical tracking.
Responsible for the design, analysis and performance improvement of
ARTS safety functions;
Validated the rehosting of ARTS to Common ARTS for surveillance and safety functions.Safety functions
Supports ARTS enhancements, such as using long range radars for tracking and safety, and ARTS Mosaic system upgrade.
ASTERIX: The safety implications of increased Mode C accuracy are being assessed with the aid of ASTERIX which is a messaging format.
Supported development of ASR-11/DASR and ARSR-4 radars and ASR-11 transmitter.
Assessed the feasibility of upgrading the ASR-8 Moving Target
Indicator (MTI) with a Moving Target Detector (MTD) subsystem.
ARCON has been involved with Mode-S
since its inception;provides engineering support to the FAA in Mode-S development,
design, test reviews, and development of scenarios.
Responsible for the design, implementation, and
testing of enhancements to the Mode-S system in two major areas: Remote Monitoring
System (RMS) and Traffic Information System (TIS).
ATCBI-6 Beacon System: Supports FAA in acquisition,
technical analyses, manufacture of the Mode S Beacon Video Reconstructor
and site implementation.
ATC Weather. WCP/DLP: Prime contractor for the Data Link Processor/1 (DLP/1) program and its
predecessor, Weather Communication Processor(WCP);
subcontractor to CSC on DLP/2.
Helped to compose and forward weather messages to aircraft
via the Mode-S system.
