Host Laboratory

The Host Laboratory function consists of all of the processing requirements within the Test Plan for the evaluation of speech communication systems. This Test Plan may be for the qualification, selection, characterization or verification of one or more voice coders designed for a specific application. The Host Lab function typically includes inputs to the Test Plan and the development of a companion Processing Plan.

The Digital Speech Processing Group at ARCON Corporation has performed the Host Laboratory function for the following vocoder selection or characterization efforts:

APCO-25 vocoder selection (IMBE), 1992
US DoD 2400bps coder selection (MELP), 1996
ETSI 541 10/1//98 INITIAL HL EFFORT PLUS EXTENSION
ETSI 544 Chinese Exp6 Host Lab Effort
ETSI 546 2/1/99 Host Lab #2 - AMR Characterization
ETSI 551 AMR-NS, 1/1/00 Host Lab - AMR Noise Suppression + Noise Source Files
ETSI 557 AMR-WB, 8/1/00 Host Lab 18 experiments, Cross Check Lab 18 experiments
3GPP 560 AMR, 10/1/00 3G AMR-NB Characterization Host Lab
