We have done extensive research in the use of radial basis function NNs in digital beamforming (DBF) arrays for single source target location and direction finding. The current research includes NN and GA combined for array pattern synthesis, beam steering and pattern shaping, GA to find acceptable beam-steering solutions for a badly-behaved X-band receive array with an analog feed structure and non-linear Reggia-Spencer phase shifters.

Our engineers have successfully used NN for adapting phased array with degraded or unknown system functions and applied GA to the design of Josephson junction arrays as radiating sources. These advanced researchers have made significant contribution to the NN and GA fields.
